Posted on June 3, 2017
Electronic Arts has announced the upcoming racing game, Need for Speed Payback. The game is being developed by EA's Ghost Games studio. It will feature heist mission, cop chases, car battles and more. The game store involves betrayal and revenge, hence the word "payback" in the title.
Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer of Need for Speed Payback, says in the announcement, "Need for Speed returns this year to challenge what players expect from racing games. We're still delivering everything our fans love about the franchise – the deepest customization, an impressive roster of cars, intense races and open world pursuits – but with Need for Speed Payback, we’re bringing together all those elements in an all new blockbuster driving experience. From the story, to the different characters you can drive as, to the varied missions, to the edge-of-your-seat moments, this is our vision for what action driving entertainment means today."
The game is set in the underworld of Fortune Valley. There are three different characters players play: Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; and Jess, the Wheelman. The characters are reunited in a quest for vengeance against a cartel called The House. The game will feature many ways players can customize their vehicles.
The official release date for the game is November 10, 2017. It will be available for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. Here is the announcement trailer:
