First Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Trailer Released
Posted on April 30, 2019
The first trailer for the Sonic The Hedgehog movie is here. Sonic has been starring in video games since he first appeared in the original Sega game in 1991. Sonic has been in dozens of games since then. Now he is starring in movies.
Sonic is blue and incredibly fast like in the game. He tells a police officer (James Mardsen) that he is here to save the planet. Sonic is voiced by actor Ben Schwartz.
Based on this initial trailer we aren't convinced the film truly captures the joy of Sonic that the early games provided. Jim Carrey entertains and steals scenes as Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Kids will certainly like it and it should spark interest in the Sonic character. The film also stars Neal McDonough.
